Derek did you disassemble it? You may have to, to get to those hard to reach areas containing rancid oil.   http://www.simnia.com/rain_lamps/disassembly/disassembly.htm

I have a rain lamp that I bought off EBay and never even got to turn on.  It smelled so bad I had to get it out of my house.  Tried to clean it but it still smelled.  It's currently sitting in my upstairs storage unit until I get the patience to try cleaning it again.  But the smell is nauseating.

Sorry, I'm not sure how to repair cracked lamps. Maybe someone here can suggest what to use to seal them up. Fortunately all mine needed was a good cleaning. Here's a  link that's helpful.   http://www.simnia.com/rain_lamps/cleaning.htm

Thanks for replying. You wouldn't happen to have any tips on fixing up an old one would you. My mom has 2, a table lamp and a hanging one with the previously mentioned naked oily chick. The hanging one has a couple cracks on the inner top around the light and oil is dripping from somewhere.

Cheylynn, I got this at a yard sale for 5 bucks. Works perfectly. Just needed to clean it up and replace the mineral  oil. And Dood... naked oily chicks just ain't my cup of tea.
