Hi Simon, I use the normal Astro Bulb 40 Watt and I took only one coil, which was original in the bottle. It is an older bottle, not a new one with two coils!

Thinking the same thing, Jus.  Some silly U.S. patent that Lava Lite holds on the shape of the globe.  Some competition would be good.
