Two 6000 ml. beakers and a 2000 ml. beaker.
The bigs one are almost as big as a Grande. A Grande is 7393 mi, They use a 100 watt spot lights and the small one uses a 50 watt spot. They start running in about 1 1/2 hours, way quicker than a Grande. I bought the beakers at an Antique Auction.

wow that sucks I think the 100w may have been way too much did u try anything smaller? or dimmers? I have a 45 w on this one http://oozinggoo.ning.com/photo/lava-sphere?context=user
It was 100 watt spot lights. They were working fine, and I had run them for about 10 hours in the garage several times just in case that happened. I will try the new beakers when they get here and see how they fair.
wow what were using to heat them? lab glass shouldn't do this.
Awww, sorry to hear it. :( You live and learn. And we're learning from you!
UPDATE : The 6000 ml beakers both broke last night. They had been cooling for a hour or so when my son heard a crash. We thought it was at the neighbors house. I didnt put two and two together until I came downstairs into my office before work and there they were busted on the floor. The wax from the blue had melted into the carpet. It took me a week to get them right. I guess the Pyrex is not good for the high temps. I ordered two 5000 ml.boiling flasks today. They are good to 230 degree's. They are ball shaped on the bottom with a long neck, not really the look I was going for, but it should work. I could buy a nice used car for what I have in these now. New pictures to come.
BTW, Denatured Alcohol works killer for getting the "Goo" color out of most anything.
LOVE the clear/orange one. Very well done. :) I didn't realize they were this big!
Cool lamps, and a great view too!
And crashandguy strikes again - another sweet custom, well done :))
