I was watching that Regency to see how high it would go.  Didn't bid as I thought $200 was too much.  $400 is just nuts.  Shipping does cloud them up but so does improper storage.  I had one that took three months but it got crystal clear.  The filtering tutorials on here recommend running them for at least four months before you open them up to work on them.

Thanks, Keith!  And yes, I do.  My house looks like you're stepping into the late 60s/early 70s.  =)

Derek--Thank you!  I have been wanting one of these for a long time now!  I was also bidding on the Regency that sold for an astounding $400 yesterday!!  Yikes!

All of my others have cleared up in due time.  I do run them everyday for at least 6-8 hours after I get them to help the process.  I think the jostling around that occurs during shipping is the main culprit; as most of mine have cleared right back up within a few weeks. =)

I was bidding on this one too but I dropped out when it reached $180.  It looked a little cloudy to me for that price.  And I have a few lamps I am already working on right now.  It's definitely cool though, congrats on the win.  It should clear up, I have had good luck with vintage lamps clearing up just by running them.  Sometimes it takes a few months and you have to run them every day.  Does look a bit more cloudy in this pic than the auction did, but I think  you have a good chance of it coming back.  My theory is that they cloud up because they are not used and stored in bad conditions (too humid, too cold, etc).

Me like!!  I see you also have some mid-century macramé and owls  ;)

Good luck. Either way, it's a beauty. :)

I did get it off eBay, yes.  I was thrilled to even find one; let alone be the winning bidder!  It was much clearer in the auction photos, so I have hope that it will clear up within a few weeks.  Most of my others have. =)

My oldies don't usually clear up, but fingers crossed yours does! Did you win this off eBay? Black Squiggles with holes is pretty rare!

Thank you!  I just got it yesterday, so it's still a little cloudy, but it'll clear up soon.  =)
