the fact that your lamp sends "stalagmites" up as it cools is interesting. i've never heard of that before. does the lamp flow at all when heated, or does it just form a big blob at the bottom?
it's difficult to tell for sure from the angle of the photo. i'd say it looks close enough. if the wax won't flow after hours of being heated, it's probably an imbalance in the formula. specifically, the wax is more dense than the water, so the wax won't rise when heated. to correct this, you will need to add something to increase the specific gravity of the water such as epsom salt. there are directions on this forum on how to do this.
