Can not WAIT man!!!
I was supposed to start the fix up last night but the solvent cement did not show up, only the applicator tips. Sad that three of the little applicator tips ended up costing a few bucks more than the actual cement!
, was quite the excited yet calm un-boxing that night! Sorry to hear you are having tooth aches, that is no fun
This is the top secret score I have been working on for months. Though the plug leak ended up being a crack I was thrilled with the condition it arrived in. It could have been WAAAAAY worse especially with the rather light weight packing job UPS did with it. I do have packing peanuts to last me a few years now though!
Tonight begins operation 'Restart the Pacifica' with round one gluing, this weekend should hopefully move into phase two which will be standing it up on end to take some pictures of fluid loss and needs. You know I am going to have to test it out on the base after I verify it isn't leaking all over the place . The majestic post worthy video will wait until it is prime time, full fill but you might hear me crying or saying something like oh it is GLORIOUS!
Just finished reading this whole thread!!! Gotta say Vox, the "I man cried", made me crack a huge smile even with my horrific toothache that I've been suffering with!!! lolol!!! So is this the "secret" UPS item that you were chatting about a week or so ago? I thought in the back of my mind that it "might" have been some sort of Wave machine as I know you've been wanting the mac daddy of the wave machines!!!! Awesome score!!!
Vox, with your knowledge of these things and ideas I have much faith that you will restore and get this puppy running at it's full potential!! I know you can do it!!! Can't wait to see the vids of it up and running.......throwing a "man cry" in there would be kind of cool too, lol!!!
That was awesome Pete, Well played!
Yank Tank !!!
Beautiful ratio shot, thanks MileHigh!
This was from Craigslist. I was informed after seeing the listing removed that the vessel had developed a leak at the plug. I was still interested in purchasing so they decided to sell under the condition that I was aware of the issue. Even though it leaks I was ecstatic with the overall condition of the tube and base, it looks brand new in regards to surface condition. Before I can attempt a plug removal and a very slooooow refill process I will need to reinforce the cracks or else they will spread and potentially cause some of the more concentrated cracking to join together, losing a good chunk of the actual plastic.
