Refilled this formerly pink/white Astro with purple liquid, in the Aristocrat base to the right we can see a Clear/pink Heritage (although it looks more than deep red - the flash doesn't help in that regard) but you get the difference.... the purple is amazing

Maybe it was blue... just going by photo's... I'm sure Glen aka Crestworth limited put a photo up on here.
Not too sure about the Flocks... kind of set my teeth on edge... sorry to any Flock fans . I rather liked the Logo buttons around the base though. I think the purple vase came with Orange base ! 400 ?
Glad you said it Frank, ROYGBIV springs to mind.
The Mathmos team know what their doing.... less is more... always leave them wanting more is the secret to longevity !!!
Yes, it's a shame, that Mathmos doesn't bring variations in color more often, and the variety of colors they actually offer at any given time itself is a joke, 6 different colorcombos for the astro (of which 3 or at least 2 are in production continously for decades), that is ridculous and boring.
And there are many great colorcombos Mathmos could draw from, the orange Flock had such a vibrant blue for instance, never saw that one elsewhere either, would love to get a glimpse of the clear/purple, with which Flock did that one come?
Yeah, I'll do the lunar definitely, still don't know if i cannibalize my blue/green Lunar Bottle (one of the combos I'm definitely tired of) or do i get a used one, best would be a rare color combo, that i could then use for/with different lamps/liquids...
Very nice! I love purple with white.
Look forward to seeing photo's of the purple/white Lunar, this combo looks brilliant.
I've also wanted a clear fluid purple wax Astro bottle for as long as I have had the collecting bug... Its a shame Mathmos never did a batch, apart from the limited edition Flocks.
No problem, man, ..'just for the record':)
and you are right about white goo being rare, I just completed the task of stocking up on enough white mathmos goo to do a lunar refill in clear/white (w/o cannibalizing my favourite lamps/bottles), but after seeing the results of this here refill i seriously consider
doing the purple/white thing w.the lunar too. I have a stock purple/red spare bottle for the lunar too, and by swapping liquids i would arrive at a clear/red and a purple/white. I think I'm gonna do just that, rest assured
photos will be up as soon as that materializes , i guess in a couple of weeks...
I like it a lot...FRANK !!! Sorry about that.
Alas white Mathmos wax is pretty rare.
It is plain mathmos goo, from a pink/white astro, and i did a fluid swap on this one, the purple liquid from a red/purple astro in exchange for the original pink, so both goo and liquid are original mathmos formula, main point
to consider is the age ( hours of actual use) of the bottles, that should be roughly the same, otherwise the balance of chemicals won't work out as planned, which results in bad flow (or none at all)
....and my name is Frank, by the way, ... just for the record
The purple/white sure is amazing Christian, how did you achieve this colour combo?
