I needed a base for my orange/white 52oz. globe. Paint job came out decent, I think. :) I wish they'd bring back the pinholes (I know, beating a dead horse), but they are such a small detail that really make the lamp stand out.

I do too. Esp spray paint. :) Our hardware store has so many colors... I want to paint everything!
looks awesome! i love painting stuff :)
This paint... was hard to paint with. Even a few hours later, it's still sticky. I accidentally leaned it on something and it smudged. I'm going to make sure it's super dry before I run a globe in it. I didn't care for the paint at all - came out all crappy-ish. I'll go see what kind it is and post back later. I do think it turned out well though and it's going to go great with my 52 oz. orange/white globe (didn't even know there was such a thing until Weebs sold me it). Can't wait to see your Mille Luci in copper!!! That's going to look great.
Nice color. Seems there's not too many orange lavas out there. I'm doing an orange color lava Mille Luci now with copper metal.
Fancy.
Yes, just did it today. Tutorial for template and hole drilling can be found here: http://oozinggoo.ning.com/forum/topics/adding-holes-to-china-lava-l...
And thanks for the compliment! Hard to get the paint job perfect, but this was close consider I used spray paint.
This is really sharp! Did you do this?
