If it's clearing Vox, and the only problem is the flow, then that might be worth the project.  Just save the old fluid.  I don't know how the LL wax would work with the distilled water, and not sure how the MT wax would work with the LL fluid, lol!!!  I was thinking of trying something with my daughter's vintage Wizard.  The coil has all this brown gunk on it that looks like nicotine.  I think it's from overheating back in the day.  The way the bulb socket is placed, the globe sits right on the bulb.  I've since put a 25 watt in from a 40.  Even dimming the 40, it still was running really hot sitting on that bulb.  Now it flows better with the 25 but just takes a little while to get going, so I just light a bit earlier to compensate for that.  The inside of the globe is also all streaked up with some kind of weird condensation type of (ya know, I don't know what it's from).  Was going to just save the fluid and the wax, clean the coil and globe and put it back together but I hear with the vintage lamps once you do that they aren't the same so I'm kind of hesitant on that.  I have a soft spot for this lamp.  It was my daughter's and I bonding tool.  We would lay in her bed together with the lights out when she was 8 years old, watch it and oooohhhh aaaahhh!!!  I don't wanna mess it up.  Even regooing it wouldn't be the same to me, lol!!  Might have to deal with the gunk until it just dies and doesn't flow anymore then I miay try an MT/LL wax hybrid mix.

I may look into that project Carol. It has cleared up a lot since I bought it and has a nice color. I tends to sit in the dark but is a runner at heart!

Vox, if you're feeling adventurous you can add some MT goo to it and make a LL/MT Goo wax hybrid, but the problem would be the color.  Not sure if adding white MT wax to the LL already died wax would lighten the color.  I think Kirk or Critter has done that before with mixing waxes.

It is a pretty color Pete. It is a shame that it is so low on wax and is just not fun to watch. That picture is the most interesting I have ever seen that globe. Not one minute after the picture did it go back to being boring spheres of wax.

I am taking a liking to the lamp now that it has lowered its haze levels.  I just wish it had a proper wax level as it just ends up being grapes bobbing around.

That classic Century is getting better and better by the day!  Liquid is almost completely clear and the nasty little white bits are dwindling.  Not sure if I am just crazy or what but... The chunks seem to completely disappear on some runs, cools smooth on top, and some runs they seem to come back. Damn mysterious lamp if you ask me.  I need to get a nice classic shot with that lamp and its new partner in crime: 1975 brass Coachlight! It should be de-fogged soon
