Looks fine Carol. Is this straight Magma Goo or a mix?
Cody, I was thinking about those centuries......and thank you for the compliment on my lamps!!! Need more goo!!!
But ooohhhh how the camera lies, lol!!!! I think I may order more goo. I used the last on my son's lamp tonite. It's in my videos and I posted under Collecting. I really am liking the kit I did for him, but now I want it, lol!!! I only ordered the mini kit because I wasn't sure how things were going to go. I need to find some cheap messed up 52 oz lamps so I can kit them.
WOW it looks pretty amazing with the daylight flash... clear/blue is another combo I've long wanted. Someone on here once said the wax appeared to be flowing in thin air in their clear/blue globe.
OMG, the camera soooo LIES!!! I could so sell my kitted purple lamp on ebay for a blue, lol!!! When flash is on during the day and photographed looks like blue goo!!! When flash is off during the day, it looks like it's true color violet.....so this just goes to show you that people can alter their pics on their ebay listings just by the time of day they take the pic and if the flash is on or off on their camera!!!
Good to know, and good to put out there for UK Ebay buyers!!! I hope you did leave negative feedback, not that that matters much, but I do try to look at sellers feedback before I buy from them. I know my Enchantress said "like new" condition. Well, the flow is magnificent, BUT, you know there is always a BUT, lol!!! After my excitement waned of my very 1st vintage score on ebay, and it arriving in the mail and firing it up, now I am starting to notice the globe is a bit scratched where the globe sits in the base. Almost as if someone had turned it in the base and scratched it up. A small child maybe. Who knows. Also, the lava does have some bubbles in it and those tiny, tiny ones that looks as if it might have overheated a few times in it's heyday, but still, I'll take some of those over the problems that I seem to have with the china globes. Shame, I am sooo proud of my goo kit violet, BUT, here's the BUT again, lol!!! The globe has soo many celestial occlusions in the glass that it really deters from watching the flow at night. I use it as a day lamp also. The lava looks more violet in the day anyway. At nite it does have a darker appearance. Especially when I dim it down some. Still, bright and silky like we like it!!!!
Yea, none of like to be cheated, over the years of building my collection I've bought three lamps off ebay sellers described as purple.
The first was listed as clear/purple astro and the photo was of the lamp cold, it turned out to be metallic lava. At first I was exited as they usually command a higher price and I had never seen mettalic lava IRL. Once the lamp got flowing I didn't like it, much prefer lava silky and glowing !
The second one turned out to be a clear pink globe, purple when switched off, but its a beautiful Fuschia pink and I was more than happy with it.
The third was an old faded blue/blue, the blue liquid is deep and gin clear, the wax has a great flow but is a dull cranberry colour and doesn't glow at all... I messaged the seller "Whats purple about it... Thanks ! "... I've since seen a quite few of these listed on ebay.
Any members reading this... beware of UKebay sellers listing Mathmos lava as purple !!!
