Aladdin, at least the green one didn't cost you anything lol, but sucks it isn't improving!

Carol, this is a brand new bottle but isnt the best, considering its from Mathmos! Some wax hangs at the top and somelittle buts stick to the glass at the bottom. But giving it a chance before I email Mathmos back! But knowing me... i will probably just keep it and live with it! I'm quite interested in LL lamps too, and may purchase one!

I know, the whole LL quality thing is messed up..  I did just buy a Clearview, and until I buy a higher wattage bulb will continue to have slow start ups, but now for some reason, it looks like I have small white pieces of way floating in the fluid.  It takes a good 5-6 hours to start up and then the lava doesn't always flow unless I give it a gentle swirl.  My room is very cold because of the air conditioning so I'm giving the poor thing a chance.  It's still really clear though, aside from the floaters.  She's a touchy one, lol!!  Oh, I have bought vintage off of ebay!!!  But with that you stand the chance of getting lamps that have been overheated and the lava is fried, so that can be a crap shoot too. 

 

Ok, goo-kits.  Gotta tell ya, ain't hating them.  I know some have not had very good luck with theirs, but I'm really liking these 2 kitted lamps that I've done and I think it is kind of rewarding when you can say "oh I made that".  Down side, one should not have to spend money on a product that they have to modify in any way, but that's been something that's been going on for years.  So for us in the US it's still a crap shoot for now, but I hear that some of the newer lamps have been improving.  Still no match for Mathmos I'm told.  Guess I have to move!!!!!

Carol... I feel for you guys in the US that you cant buy quality lava lamps and have to piss ball about with goo kits !!!

I would rather spend my hard earned dosh on vintage Lava Lites on ebay, craig lists, ect.

I luv the Mathmos lamps!!!  Would be delighted to own one someday, but I'm in the states and unfortunately we are locked in to LL or have to pay high shipping costs and then buy an additional adapter to switch the electricity over.  I'm lost when it come to that stuff.  They are really sweet lamps!!!  Enjoy!!!  Oh, nice flow too!!!

Nice one Mel... I love my yellow Fluey, the green ebay bottle I scored free gratis on ebay shows no sign of improvement... Oh well, some you win some you loose    :D
