This was was a great score nearly ruined by poor packaging. I got this on eBay for pretty cheap - guessing due to the poor main photo, most people didn't know this was a black Squiggle. However, as soon as I saw the package on my front door, I *knew* there would be trouble. The box was too small for a lamp that size.
Sure enough, when I took the base out, it was smashed. I was so sad! I thought it might be able to be bent back, but I emailed the seller first, noting the poor packaging. I was refunded the entire amount immediately, which I did not expect. I was only hoping for a partial refund, but was also prepared to send the lamp back, too. After the refund, I did attempt to bend the base back and it worked - mostly. It's nearly perfect, but the globe doesn't sit 100%, but it's pretty darn close! Most people wouldn't catch it.
The globe is hard to capture, color-wise. It's greenish-blue liquid, kinda dark teal or turquoise when off. The lava is green - kinda snot green, or cooked mint green - I've seen this color before. The wax is kinda shot - has the white stuff around it that never mixes back in. The lamp was totally cloudy when I got it, but it's been clearing (I've been running it every day). So, that's the story! This lamp came from an estate sale - that's about all I know about it. I've never seen the color combo before though. My guess is that this is a late 60s lamp due to the low wax level.
