52oz. $20. First run. The glass is HORRIBLE, though you can't see it in this pic. Full of light pinholes, a few smears, etc. The glass is pretty awful. Also, as you can see, the color combo on the box does not equal the color in real life. If I can take a decent pic of this lamp, why can't Lava Lite?! Sheesh.
I really do like the color combo though. More updates as I get in more runs.
Also, a black base would have been preferred for this combo. I'll be drilling and painting this one.
In case my other photos get buried with more comments, here's what the lamp REALLY looks like when running in a dark room:

Erin, I hate to see you dump one of your Neons......and I agree with Lala, a lighter green would have been much better.
I was the same with the blue/green (what are those gooddam smears) but after contacting Mathmos C.S. and all the hassle of returning I went ahead and transferred as the formula was so good.
I would still speak to LL CS to let them know you are disappointed.
I have several with a few pinholes and defects, and they do bother me. I would freak if I got one as bad as your green/black Erin. I'd send it back and hope for a better one. Surely, they all aren't that bad!
Pete, I can't see a blemish in any of your links....but I'm sure they're there cause you own em! Love that blue/green. Mathmos colors cannot be beat!!
I can almost handle the stars, but there are TONS of them. And smears. The smears may go away, as it's a new lamp and sometimes they have those in the beginning. We'll see. I'll look for a lamp I can dump tonight... maybe one of my Neons...
If you're happy with the flow Erin I would transfer the formula to a good globe rather than take a chance.
I never transferred the formula on my blue /blue Telstar as its a 'dark' globe and the pinholes give a nice 'starry' effect.
I definitely have globes with defects and pinholes and normally, they don't bother me. This one was HORRIBLE though. I'm wondering if returning it would grant me the chance to get a better one.
This cresty is full of pinholes..

as is my blue/blue Mathmos Telstar globe both from ebay...
and the glass in the blue/green I bought from Mathmos.com a a way back was awful...

But the globes I bought from them since are superb.
If I had a spare 52 oz. non-crappy globe, I'd send it to Erin, Pete. I sure didn't know Mathmos and Cresty ever made bad globes, thanks for that info! I love my green/red Crestworth Jet and, thankfully, the globe is perfect, as are my Telstars. Erin's green/black combo is great, too bad it's so messed up.
I know Lib, they crop up from time to time, I have both cresty and mathmos globes as bad as this !
Lets hope it was just one that slipped through !!!
I poured the formula into good spare globes.
But that horribly flawed globe ruins the look, Pete! I really think that is the worst one I've ever seen, and we have all seen quite a few bad globes. :-( Erin said the pic was too good, that she could hardly see the goo in the liquid when the lights were out.....drat!
