TOTALLY CUSTOM

Lava lamp really dropped the ball when they stopped color matching the bases to the glitter or lava colors

They look so much better this way

I customized these in color matched. green, copper, yellow, and purple. 

I'm considering selling one set of duplicates due to lack of room and availability of glitter I'm looking for

I disassembled these custom ones completely  (Green, Copper, Purple, Yellow)

Rewired them, clear coated them

On the few that needed it, any noticeable dents were bondo'd, sanded, and filler primed, sanded again, then finish primer, and sanded again (honestly, I can tell which ones they were now)

In order to paint, each received a special silver base coat, then multiple (many) color coats to the desired effect,  then, clear coated. This special paint is really tricky to work with and smells like hell

a respirator is definitely required and the shop smells for days

No cheap either

Severely labor and talent extensive to use due to the transparency of the paint and the ease of dripping

I have a  pair of yellow ones to paint tomorrow

Beautiful. Claude, is the base custom? I don’t recall a green base ever.
