52oz. Lava Lamp - "Premier" multi-color

This one was hard to photograph. With the flash on, the lamp looks really nice, but it's not how the lamp truly looks. It's not as vibrant as I'd hoped and there are numerous flaws in the paint job. The globe/liquid doesn't appear as clear due to the not-so-great spray job.

So, I photographed it without the flash. Like the Rainbow Grande, the actual colors on the lamp aren't like the box, and there is no red on the lamp, period.

The flow is not good. And if history repeats itself, this lamp will get gunk in the coil in a matter of weeks. If it does that before the 30 days, I will return it.

Comment by Erin on November 9, 2015 at 9:17am: Yes, the colors are weak. I think my problem lies with the fact that I do have a 32oz. Clearview colormax that has really good color on it (see here: http://oozinggoo.ning.com/photo/32-oz-yellow-clearview-colormax-lam...) so I expected them all to be like that. I also had another 32oz rainbow colormax with a good spray job (see here: http://oozinggoo.ning.com/photo/rainbow-lava-lamp-by-lava-lite?cont...). But, as usual, quality control at LL is shit, so I should know better.

I fully expect this 52oz to end up sticking around the base and get crap in the coil. They all seem to go that route.

Comment by Critter on November 8, 2015 at 2:59pm: LOL. I was just at Spencers's and managed to take some pics of this lamp flowing. I told my wife "Erin at OG has been wondering how these flow". Was going to post the pic for you because I did not realize you already bit the bullet and bought one. I would say the flow is just Good...not Great. It is better than many recent 52oz lamps but still needs work.

Comment by Ian on November 7, 2015 at 11:25pm: I bought this lamp as well. The colors on the lamp were really weak. There is only supposed to be six colors on the lamp, and red would make it seven, so there isn't actually supposed to be red.. I returned mine, because the only colors you could see were light pink, light green, and light orange. Not a rainbow, and those colors were pastel and not vibrant. I was super disappointed, as I was expecting colors like the rainbow 32oz.

But knowing the LL quality issues appear out of the box or after several runs, keeps me from buying. Now, if I had your photography skills and LL would trade product for pictures - well, that would be different deal.
