also ment to say, once youve stapled the sleeve part i use super glue along the flap part so it dont pop open if you understand what i mean, also the paint is translucent ( see thru )

i use OHP film overhead projector film A4 size and a solvent based glass paint ( marabu ) pics show some new spinners ive made recently and now found if i design a pattern stripes on computer and colour print direct on the ohp film it makes a good base colour to paint on. The only problem is when recoating the paint it can react slightly but you cant see it through the globe. I also use a 25w pearl bulb.

Red is always a funny colour it as it fades, so may need to do a couple of coats, i also give the sleeves a quick clear varnish and found havent faded YET. Yellow can make the whole spinner very light and detract the other colours so i tend to use less if im doing a multi coloured pattern one

I then staple the over lap to make it cylinder shape after measuring the ohp flim sheet around the spinner part and then do 2 more staples top spread out and the bottom ( giving a total of 3 staples top & bottom ) so it can sit on the edge of the spinner also with the staples at the bottom gives you a alternative colour spinner when you flip it around.

The paint colours i use are Vermilion = red, emerald= green, turquoise=blue, dark ultramarine= pinky purple, lemon= yellow

The color red doesn't seem to be faded on the insert. I'll take a pic of it and post it soon, I had the idea of making a new color wheel, just so it would look nicer. 

Thanks for the tip on the color issues. If I make a spare, I can mess around with the colors quite a bit... I'd like for it to have more colors, as there are only three that really show up now: yellow, green and blue.

Might it be worth asking other Kaleidolite/Mistrolite owners on the red issue? We've been refurbing colour wheels on Brit fibre-optics, and encountered problems with the colour green; apparently the much lower wattage UK lamps use (compared to Fantasia Sunbursts, for example) has to be taken into account for some colours, and so we changed the green part of the wheel from computer-generated film to old-fashioned paint, with good results.

Btw, congratulations on the score - I'd love one of those, especially the UK Mistrolite version, they are so rare...
