Goodnight! Here's a pic showing some different sizes for UK vs. US: http://oozinggoo.ning.com/photo/british-vs-us-lamp-sizes?context=al...
I will pm you about that tomorrow, its getting late now and my eyes are going. Been jumping between here, ebay, and a tropical fish forum all evening. So I'm of up the wooden stairs to bedfordshire. bye for now. :)
I can do that for you. :)
And hey, if you ever want to arrange a swap, I have a spare purple Wizard, but the base isn't great. I'd love to do an across-the-pond swap! I'd love to have a Glitterbaby. :)
For sure, I realise that and I would love to own some of the vintage US lamps posted here in the photo gallery, esp. the Wizzards as you allready know...lol
What would be really nice is if someone on here could post a photo of some classic lamps next to a Mathmos lamp so I can get an Idea of their size and proportions. 32oz 52oz ect does'nt really mean much to me.
We're lucky to have a decent market of vintage stuff on eBay, garage sales, etc. :) I've gotten almost all my lamps from eBay and most of them have been great.
Me to, could well be Lava Lite formula, its a crying shame what happened to that company, I so feel for you guys in the US, it would drive me 'blim blim' if I could'nt get a decent lava lamp when I wanted. I must say though that my two Grandes run perfectly.
I just wonder why someone would have refilled these. And what are they refilled with? Sounds like current Lava Lite formula.
Oh I knew that allready, stupid me... LOL... BTW my last comment should have read : BIN BNIB clear/purple Mathmos Astro bottle £15.
I have two Mathmos - a Jet and an Astrobaby. ;)
I must say I've been pretty lucky up till now, most of my lamps are from ebay. Only got my fingers slightly singed twice, once for the better. I won a BINB Mathmos Astro clear/purple a couple of months back, a colourway I've been after ever since I started collecting to complete an astro rainbow. It looked purple when Igot it out of the box which said clear/purple on the lable. On firing it up it turned out to be clear/pink and I really am a pink stinks kinda guy. once it had warmed up and got flowing I just fell in love with it, its stunningly beautiful, and one of my favorites. I do hope Mathmos starts up in the US for you soon so you all can see for yourselves.
