I cant agree about the early Humingos,
Mine had a lot to be desired until I goo Kitted it
Was was dense and didn't let a lot of light through, as well as being to temperature sensitive
But so Am i with age so?... LOL
There are a wonderful example of fine quiality lamps prior tio the china meltdown

Seems like many of the earlier US lava lamps - these beauties, + Imperial + Humungo have great spikes/flows. You will know and be able to quote many more, I'm sure...
Here in the UK early Crestworths/Mathmos exhibit similar characteristics.... but now?
Quality drop-offs are always depressing, but seeing these is so refreshing - thanks!
