Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Nothing to see here folks...literally (Model 101)

This is my model 101 green/red Century. You can barely see the lava in it! It's hard to tell from the photo, but there is a slight green tinge to the liquid at the top. The wax is red, but a lighter red, almost coral looking. It runs on a 50W bulb. I don't think this lamp will clear up, so I might filter it. No indication of date anywhere. Came with an instruction/warranty card with a different Chicago address.

%0 watts is to hot my 101 is from the 60s and runs on a dimmed 40 you will burn the wax if it is old

Man that's one cloud lava baby. Reminds me of my Astro 'Cloud'. Still a beautiful Century though.

Yes, I think filtering twice could remove some of the surfactant that makes the lava flow.

What is the intion behind putting half a globe full of DI water into it.

iIwould filter the whole thing a fue times then run it and see what it does

I'm so afraid to touch it. The wax seems to be in good shape (no white powder either). I don't have much hope that it will clear up on it's own though.
