Comment by Critter on May 31, 2017 at 7:22pm: How fun. The light on the right isn't a Lava Lamp though. That is a late sixties era spot/accent light those included a gold painted metal coil that the round spot light sat upon. I've got a couple of those and they are really cool. This is an interesting way to utilize one however.

You could also find those spot lights with a built on metal base too and they were often times used to illuminate the aluminum christmas trees back in the day. Some even had the spinning color disc attached.
