When I strip the base to do another attempt I have to use paint thinner or acetone to remove the fibers. I think with enough practice I will be able to paint and flock the entire base and get a perfect coat. I am going to strip this one and give it yet another try.

I am just using paint and a tube that sprays the fibers. The problem I am running into is getting the whole base painted and covered before the paint dries.

I'm curious how you do this. A friend of mine flocks with a Van de Graaff generator, spraying adhesive onto an object and suspending it over a sheet with a pile of loose flocking. then charging it with the machine so the flocking is electrostatically attracted to all sides of the object.
