About half my Lava Lites from the past two years do that too - stuck around the very bottom, by the coil. I should return every lamp that does this, and will from now on.

My china green/black has a little bit of debris in the coil, but the worst part is that the wax sticks all around the bottom. You can't see either when it runs, but it really drives me crazy because it shouldn't be there.

That's really a shame, Erin, I loved those colors, and it could have been such a beautiful lamp.   I don't know what's happening, but it needed returning whether the Spencer's lady liked it or not!   Good for you!!

I returned it tonight and the lady at Spencer's seemed annoyed or in disbelief that I was returning it. Good riddance. You'd think I'd have learned my lesson by now... I just get tempted when I see cheap lamps that look clear. But there's always more below the surface...

That's terrible.  I bought a pink/blue from them and it had so many pinholes in the glass I didn't even try it out, just returned it.  What a disappointment these are.

You know what... no. I'm taking this one back. I shouldn't even pay $20 for this piece of crap.
