I think this pretty recent really as the build quality (apart from the vase) isn't all that. The base and cap are very lightweight plastic but give the impression of being far more solid. Made in Taiwan (yes I thought it was a French rarity) but hey, you can't have it all! Still gives a lovely glow though.
