Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

well, i tried dismantling one of my lava lite lamps to get the socket out, to use for a rewire on my jet. but i failed miserably. is there a special way to get the bottom of the base off? to me it looks to be stapled or souldered together.

just figured id keep everyone posted on my progress with everything haha. so if anyone has any input feel free to give your opinions :)

You have to remove the cord from the socket. As Bohdan said, it is usually screwed to the socket. Where the cord goes in to the base is a little plastic collar to keep the metal base from cutting the cord, that has to be removed to get the cord out of the base.

The bottom of the lamp does not come off. If you want to remove the light socket follow bohdans guide.
