Picked this up for 10 bucks at a flea market! wondering what info someone might be able to provide on it and where i might find a cap for it. It still works great and the colors are okContinue

Well lets see here...most of my immediate family have always had lava lamps running, so ive really enjoyed them since an earlier age. But recently i realised i had stored mine away for the better part of a year and when i when to turn them on it became apparent they had all clouded over or faded.
They are all cheapo's. I wasn't even aware there were different tiers of quality when it came to lava lamps, until a few days ago lol. I started looking online to see if there were any quick ways to clear out your lamps but got side tracked by curiosity. So i started looking up how to MAKE your own lamps!
After a while i popped the caps off of my lamps drained the fluid cleaned the coils and started trying out the Salt/soap mixture that i had seen on this site(the old version) and the lava cave. Both were very helpful and after a 2 or 3 tries at it both lamps were working wonderfully, better than i can recall them ever running, plus it was a fun experience.
So basically im interested now! in the near future i want to make a few lamps more or less from scratch. so im just checking out how other people have done this and their experiences with it!
Kind regards
