was wondering if there is a collectors book or price guide for collectable lava lamps. something that you can use as a guide or to show the different lamps made over the years

what are the numbers that are printed on the tops. anyplace to find out what type of lamp was made in what year?

I can't beleive there hasn't been a book produced yet, maybe there is a market for one, there are books about pratically everything else. Check out Ant's (Astrobaby) sites he mentioned, they really do give a fantastic histroy of lava and other cool lighting from both sides of the pond.
