What? I faded the Purple/Pink last year & colored it green. My camera is reacting to the overcast in some pics, so it might appear a darker green in some. This year I'm hoping to make it a yellow or Blue, unsure of which till I get it nice & faded.
Hope this clears up my initial posting.
As for Recoloring Grandes...
I didn't remove the cap to recolor them. I place a folded towel down, place the globe, take a small phillips screwdriver & a hammer, gently tap till it's through the cap. Then work the screwdriver around, till the hole has the clearance for the syringe, draw the coloring into the syringe & slide the needle through the rubber seal. Add the coloring, swish the globe & add more coloring if needed. Then I take strips of aluminum foil, fold it 2-4 times, stick it in the hole, fold over the spot in the cap, hammer it down flat & duct tape over the cap. That's it! My Grande has been running with this redneck patch with no leakage or evaporation for nearly a year!
So, thanks to a few on this site and a lack of JB Weld, I found a way to color with no issues! Tried it on the 32 Glitter, the rubber stopper is directly beneath the cap. I was afraid to pound into it too much, might pop it into the Glitter! So I just stuck the syringe in & whoopee it was ago!
Ummm... seeing the Lime/Yellow isn't gonna be pretty :( It's still doing the Golf balls, I've tried to towel it, no luck. They just collect at the top & return to their previous golf ball size. I think I'm gonna do a Goo Kit on it this summer. I'll try to post a video of it soon.
And I thought the Nicotine Yellow was bad last year! I'm hoping another week or so & I'll be able to dye it yellow, but it's beginning to look like I'll be dying it Turquiose instead!
UPDATE on Lime/Yellow- It's only producing marble sized blobs now, even after 16 hours!!!! I think I'm gonna need some suggestions from you guys. The towel trick doesn't work, whether it's wrapping the base or the globe. Should I attempt a coil swap or just toss it & use Louie's Goo?
