From previous remarks either here or on Amazon itself (cant remember which) I have heard talk that Amazon gets Lava's returns/rejects and just resells them. This is what has prevented me from ordering from them before now.

I figure that the Marley Grande is so stinking new that it hasnt had time to be rejected yet, so I am taking a chance.

I'll let you all know how it turns out.

98 dollars is astronomical for that product. Is that how expensive they are in stores? I know the grandes on lavalite's site are 80 dollars (which is still expensive considering they were 40 at cosco and the product is not that great) but they don't have any of the Marley grandes on there.

I actually have a 20z Marley lamp that I do like quite a bit. It's flow isn't anything to be astonished at but it's always got some nice blobs. At any rate it makes good decoration when lit up or not. It looks really cool and I like rasta and people who don't know much about lamps are not interested as much in my "boring" silver streaks or midnights as they are with the awesome rasta colored lamp with Bob Marley's face on it lol.

There aren't in stores anymore...the one place in my town that has a grande wants 250 bucks for it.

Yes, if the product is not that great 98.00 is too much...heck 50 is too much. The costco price as I understand it was a one shot deal last fall that I missed out on.

But coming in those colors (yellow liquid, red wax) for a working grande? if you know a place that has them for less than 98.00 that are KNOWN to be good, let me know...Ebay sure doesnt!

But I am gambling that since its a brand new combo for the Grande they *had* to do some sort of testing...didn't they? I'll find out soon enough!

Mine flows great, but its foggy. All other things equal the larger the China lamp, the better the wax will flow...

Just seen the pictures of the lamp - its not that bad achulie, I recken some constent use over a fue weeks will get it clear

Mine is still foggy after nearly a year.

 

But for 43 bux I'd jump if I didn't already have one. Hell, thinking about getting one anyway and coloring the water...

I had decided what the heck I'll go for 43 and it could be my second "experimental" grande waiting in line for my filter with my grotesquely cloudy blue yellow Ebay mistake.

 

But 80 for one I already have....nah.

I know this is a really old thread, but I'm new and I think this relevant.

I recently ordered 4 lamps via Amazon, each lamp came from a different "partner" store and 2 of the 4 were irrecoverably clouded. One more lamp was slightly clouded and did recover upon first use. The lamps on Amazon are slightly more expensive than ordering from Schylling directly, when you add in 2nd day shipping, and it is considerably more expensive than walking into a BnM shop like Spencer's. BUT 1) I don't have a Spencer's or any other BnM that sells Lava near me. 2) Return shipping to Schylling is not free and they can, and from what I hear often do, deny your return. So since I have Amazon Prime, my returns are free and my complaints are honored unconditionally. It may take a couple of cycles to get a good lamp, but in the long run I am having a better experience for that premium price.
