I just bought a lava lamp and it's not flowing like it should. Here are the pictures of what it does. What should I do to get it flowing again? The lady told me it had been stored in her attic for some time. Is it dead?
I tried the suggestions above but none worked. It would flow with the 60w bulb but then stay at the bottom after a couple of hours. Is it possible the lava is cooked?
Bohdan, My 60's clear/red century has a great flow to it (as seen in my pics). Using a clear 40w, but sometimes if the room temp is over 75 it overheates and all the lava stays at the bottom. Would you recommend using the R-16 instead?
Thank you all for your help. The lamp is running fine with a 60 watt frosted bulb and a dimmer in place. I also replaced the coil with one from Lowes. Does anyone have a spare cap for this lamp they are willing to sell to me? I accidentaly tripped on the power cord and the top hit the floor and cracked the cap. It still seals ok but I would like a good one.
