Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I bought this one in a lot of three. Was told they were about a year old and bought at Spencers when she worked there.

One however I had noticed was a lot more clearer then my daughters and it seemed to flow a lot better. My daughter's  is black lava/clear liquid.( 20 oz ) Tad cloudy and not good flow.

This one is Pink lava/clear liquid and a little larger. ( 32 oz ) Really clear and the flow is amazing which only makes me even more excited to get a Mathmos and see how they are.

My question is that on the side of the bottle cap lid it says made in the usa. Are they referring to the cap itself or do they mean the Lava Lamp? I've been doing a little reading on the cap codes but they don't seem to match up to what I have on mine.

21 ( large letters to the left )

981074 ( first line )

1024BM and I think something else after but it's inreadable.

Sorry about the pic being sideways

the first line (981074) indicates the globe was made in 1998. i believe globes before 2003 were made in chicago. the factory moved to china not long after....
Thanks a bunch! I can really tell the difference.
also, the ones before the factory moved have a bottle cap with 'lava lite' in red letters on a cream background (depending on the type of lamp) whereas the ones after the factory moved have a sticker on it

The large #21 means that the globe color is red wax/purple water. If I remember correctly the red in this combo wasn't a true red but the pinkish color that you have, the purple water has been faded at some point.  That is a beautiful globe!

Here are a couple of pictures that Dr. What created:

It does have the bottle cap with the Lava in red. Odd though about the 21. It's so pretty though. I love it. I find myself looking at it a lot.
