The New Spencer's Lava Lite Line 2011

Here are a couple pictures of the new LL line that are Spencer's only exclusives lamps. Should be available soon probably Aug or Sept. Whether they'll be good flowing lamps or not is a mystery (but most likely the same old shitty flow) some of the colors are pretty cool though. There is also 2 new globe color combos. A Midnight Blue / White and a Champange Red / White.

The new glitter globes are all oil now so it's just a bottle cap that holds it in there.

What makes the glitter and stuff move? These ones seem to have some sort of rotating action, which to me means they are not moved by heat.

 

These are called Vortex lamps and I wonder if that's what the green one is:

Also, on LW's website, they don't show a 32oz green glitter, only a 12oz. so I wonder if Sonix Electronix has it wrong. The image that Sonix has used for the 32oz. green glitter is the same image as LW's image of the 12oz. glitter.

Those vortex lamps look cool - might even consider trying to get one, especially the colour   changing one.

The glitter appears to move by a propeller or something in the base to create a werlpool effect (similar to the twister tubes). I reckon there is more chance of these lamps working then the lava lamps and the video looks legitimate (seams to be filmed at Lava Lite's office).

Thats quite a put off - its probably a better idea to do a proper job of it and find a french glitter not anougher toy from lava lite.

The green lamp is just a straight up glitter lamp thats heat powered. The vortex is AC power (maybe battery powered too) which a little propeller spins at the bottom stirring up the glitter. Ever seen those older tornado tubes with the little round balls that formed a twister? Similar to that, I have 2 smaller mystical cloud and glitter lamps which are the same thing, this one you linked is just bigger.
