He must have, because the current mods would not have done that. We can create a new one or you can.
Let me know how you would like to proceed.
Yep - after the summer holidays I'm going to have a go at making my own Glasshead!
(& join the club) - thanks Chow for the help so far ;o)
First thing is to pick up a glass head from ebay.
Chow - what coloured glass heads have you used & what are your comments?
I wanted to make one, too. So, if anyone can write-up a tutorial, we'll feature it and make sure it sticks around this time. ;)
I got my glass head at Pier 1 for $20. It's the standard green/clear one.
I couldn't find the glasshead group either, so I just created a new group for this project.
I flipped my head over and placed it on a grande base with the 100 watt bulb to test out where my levels were. I ended up using a 60 watt bulb on the glitter.
I think most of the heat will be at the base of the head. Using a tempered ashtray or a candle holder will work. I have these two frosted candle holder bases but haven't tested them yet. I did remember something about a pyrex lid that could work also.

is the glass on one of these heads strong enough to take hot tempretures on close inspection of my head the thickness of the glass varries a lot and is quite thin on the nose part
