can you post a link to the two you are talking about?

They are on the first page of ebay and have one hour to go.

It may be different in other areas, but the clear black is one of the most common colors in my area.  I see it all the time in all ages of globes.  Though there have been some very common lamps going for insane prices lately, I am wondering if this company bids on their own auctions to drive the price up.

I don't get that either. Maybe someone is bidding it up high for...what reason I don't know.

The 02 is a faded yellow/red and the black is not rare, not common. I have no idea what's going on in those two auctions.

It all looks a bit dodgy - around 40 bids for each of the items which yes its a USA Lava Lite so its a good lamp but not for that amount of money.

Maybe the seller thinks that because its a vintage item then it will sell so trys there luck with bidding on there own items. - It is odd and if the buyer wasn't connected with the seller then they got ripped off.

I think it was a scam of some sort. Who bids that many times on an item like that?

Also, I like the word "dodgy".

I can't believe they both sold for about $140 each. Definite scam!

Thats some darn good money for some lamps. Wish I had mine from the 70's

Those lamps aren't from the 70s. They are from the 90s.
