Thank u I do too,  When i look at lamps, i just wanna see globe action.  With black base it kinda fades into the background lol.  :)

Did you just give your base and cap a little sanding, primer and finally a gloss black paint?

No sanding or primer just used Krylon Satin Black Indoor/Outdoor spray paint.
