A word on the Neons at Spencers

Eventually all of the bad neons will be pulled from the shelves. Lava Lite and Spencers decided that the lamps were functionally unacceptable. Dale was the one to initiate this partial recall. There will be replacements soon that will be of much better quality. Lava Lite does care about quality, and is determined to make sure all lamps sold from this point on will be of high quality.

Interesting. I noticed they had a 52oz neon running at our local Spencers and the flow looked much better than other lamps. What was wrong?

went there today and they already pulled them, i guess the only new stuff they had was the ice and tornado lamps. They had them up in the rafters. How does quality control miss this again?

My Spencer's indicated that they were working out some issue before their shipment arrived. Must be the same problem. This can't be cheap... all these messed up lamps. 

I have to admit, as a mid-30 something female, I feel like an idiot walking into Spencer's looking for lava lamps. I mean, the place sells vibrators. LOL

hahaha Erin it is funny to go in there and see all those funny shirts too.

I mean, I don't mind that they sell that stuff, but I'd like to buy my lava lamps in a less, er, teen-angst ridden place full of beer bongs and joke underwear.

Hey now, I'm in my early 20s and Spencer's terrifies me! Admittedly I am an uptight American Midwesterner... On a related now, what are they referring to when they mention "bad quality"? Mine flows excellently, but came out of the box cloudy.

The only issue that I could see as the problem is the cloudyness. Normally that happens during the shipping process but with these it look s like a huge issue.

I can see that, mine is very cloudy. I wonder if LL will do globe replacements for people who already bought one. I'm probably just going to goo kit mine, but I'm sure there are a lot of disappointed people already out there who can't/won't do that.

Don't know. Do they even make 52oz lamps anymore? Last time I checked they were still spreading the cheeks and filling it with 20oz lamps.

Yes, Lava Lite still makes 52oz. lamps. Usually you'll see them at Spencer's. So far, quality is not good. Their offerings have been random and quality has been low. Improvements are supposed to be on the way... We'll see.
