Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I see that Spencer's website has those neon's available now. Have to go see what these look like in person to see if there are worth it. Autumn do you know if there more colors available or is this it?  These remind me of the old days of the midnight aristocrats minus the pinholes.

I tried to jiggle the globe and all I managed to do was make like a million little tiny blobs that thankfully absorbed back into the wax. How did you go about it?

Yes, we need a jiggling video or something.  I tried everything and still no flow.  Of course, I have discovered that so far the lava is very good at re-absorbing the little droplets of wax formed by the jiggling.

Actually I would try tipping the globe from side to side to allow the melted wax underneath to escape up the side.  Of course this should be tried on a hot globe.  If your technique is creating very many small blobs you are shaking not jiggling, shaking can cause irreversible flow problems.  Whatever you do must be gentle.

Okay I will give your tipping method a try, I am going to get the purple soon and everyone says that the process is much better and faster with it than the green. I hope so, if not at least I will know a few things to try besides waiting. Thanks for the help.

I didn't have to do anything to my Purple, so here is hoping yours is the same.

I will tip multiple times tonight to see what it does.

I didn't have to do anything special to my green lamp.

anyone seen the yellows back yet??...really want a nice clear yellow.

Ok, so on the left is the well behaved, perfectly flowing purple neon (I love that it snakes).  On the right, is the rather boring green one that is pretty but is lazy.

I've tried the jiggle (properly) and it doesn't help.  However, while looking at it I noticed the green one is only sticking to 1/2 the coil, while the purple is stuck to the entire coil.  I have a suspicion this might be the problem between the two.

Any ideas on how to get lava to stick to the coil w/o opening the lamp?

Still, 2 out of 3 new ones working well (see black/orange thread) makes me very happy.

There were a couple of very poor reviews there. Two outta three IS bad!
