FYI - Grandes

I purchased a grande from Amazon last week and it arrived cloudy.  I contacted Lava Lite for a replacement and this is what I received:

You will have to go back to Amazon for  a replacement or refund.

We are out of stock on all Grandes until mid- December.

Not sure if this means that they are just out of stock or if they are working on fixing the cloudy lamp problem.

most Spencers no longer stock Grandes as they take up a ton of shelf room and do not sell super well due to size and price.

I had never seen one at either of the two local stores until last week.  They just had one out next to the rest of the Lava Lamps.

My guess is that they stocked it for the Christmas season.  That's why I mentioned it here: in case other stores that don't normally stock them get a few in for Christmas.

the replacement grande i received from amazon is clear and looks great.  although, it did arrive upside down in the external box.  these things really are hit and miss, so if you order one on-line, i suggest using someone like amazon that has a painless return policy.  they had UPS pick up the cloudy lamp at my doorstep (no charge) and shipped a new one to me 2-day (no charge).  i'm satisfied!

I would guess August 24, 2012.  Interesting that they were from the same batch.  I guess shipping differences could have caused the cloudiness.  Love the color BTW.

The shipping services are brutal with the lamps and all too often they get tossed around. Lamps can only take so much.

lava lite sent me a replacement! :D...got an email with tracking info this morning! its a purple pink though cuz they are out of the other colors but hey...i dont mind purple pink ;)
