nothing small enough to fit on a 52 oz base. The only way to get that to work is block the bulbs light like using tinfoil and then use a outside UV lighting source.
Update: When I wrote the below, the lava was just sitting for a long time as one tall blob at the bottom of the globe, it was not exhibiting the problem my first lamp had (as pictured by Bridget back on page 6 of this thread). After the lamp cooled down, I moved this lamp to the room where my green Neon is and put it about a foot away from my green neon is. I've had it on twice since then and have had the green one on at the same time for comparison. For the most part, the purple one is no longer doing the "one tall blob sitting at the bottom" thing, but its flow is very slow and different compared to the green lamp. Hoping that with more use its flow will be similar to the flow of the green lamp (which did not act this way when new).

Bugger. The lava in the new lamp is no longer sticking well to the coil. It's now worse than the last one. :(
Picked up a yellow Neon today. Date stamp of 8/15/12. Liquid before turning it on was nice and clear. Interestingly, the outside of the globe had some wax or some other slick substance on it. Hadn't encountered that before.
The Spensers I was at had a ton of lamps. In addition to a full stock in the normal Lava Lamp area, they had a lot more by a partial wall in the other side of the store. The main area had green Neons, but no purple or yellows, but the stash by the partial wall had both.

Did you get your yellow one before or after the "recall"?
i got a YELLOW neon today too!!!!...could not believe my eyes when i saw it! it was the only one they had and its really nice!...will post pics tommrow :)
I bought my first Lava Lite lamp on eBay last week, what is apparently a blue Neon.
First impressions are how cheap they seem compared to Mathmos ones. Not nearly the same quality.
Anyway, I'm very disappointed overall, the light seems to catch the glass or liquid in such a way that it reflects and appears cloudy even though it isn't when you turn it off. I don't know if it's a faulty one, I'll try running it again tonight after it's settled a bit.
Most disappointed in the colour though, on eBay it looked a lovely purpley blue colour, but in person just looks like dark turquoise.
i purchased the last yellow neon at the local spencer's today. it's clear, and i appears to have been manufactured in august of this year.
In the 52oz size? I know Target has these colors the 20oz size.

My spencers now has a neon blue that looks on par with mathmos turquoise, and a watermelon neon. Which is a nice neon pink
I sure hope its 52 oz, anything smaller is a giant waste....
I do notice that Spencers online has greatly reduced the amount of available lamps.
my walmart now has the watermelon pink neons but they are only 20ozs :(
