Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I did a post in the trade zone last week about a new wave motion machine
made in Germany, see https://oozinggoo.ning.com/forum/topics/whoot-a-new-wave-machine-fr... ,

and have been in contact with one guy of the makers company in the meantime.

He told me various facts about this device and their motivation with it:

- In a first step the whole thing has been constructed as complex 3D-CAD object,
which runs fully functional in a realtime simulation environment, including
the wave action of the liquids.

- Development took about 1,5 years, both in-house and in collaboration
with a university chair for Physical Chemistry and two further chemistry
laboratories assisting the development of the deployed fluids and the
  related simulation models.

- Most mechanical and electronical parts are specially produced, either
from the scratch or by modifying industrial made components.

- A customized kind of acrylic glass has been developed for the vessel by
one of the leading plastic manufacturers which is highly transparent,
durable and has a protection filter against ultraviolet radiation.

- They´re building special devices, including one-offs, for many years
for contractors from all over the world.

They guy also said that they´re aiming at the premium markets with the
machine, producing it exclusively on a build to order basis.

Sounds to me like they have invested much effort to make this thing
a reality. From my point of view it isn´t an ordinary product, but rather an
ageless kind of artwork that can be handed down from father to son.
Quiet impressive!

Hm, I´m thinking about acquiring one of those for my living room. Not cheap,
but reasonable priced in comparison with other premium room & light objects.

And who knows, maybe it will turn into a good store of value in addition,
because of its limited edition :?)

Definitely very cool! that base is so steam punk its amazing. but I'm sure the price of these would be out of most people's price range.
