Spencers now has their new batch of neon lamps. The first one I bought I returned before I even left the mall because it was cloudy, but the second one was only very slightly cloudy. The lamp does clear up when running fortunately and the flow is also very active. It may not be like the 90's lamps with lots of stretchy blobs, but I feel that with the amount of activity in these lamps it is forgivable. I plan on picking up a neon yellow and a blue/red tonight. I will post photos of them in the next few days.
Base and cap: 7/10
Glass 10/10
Clarity: 9/10
Flow: 8/10
Color: 10/10
Base and cap: I don't care for this style of base, so my rating is because of personal preferences.
Glass: Very few bubbles, no noticeable flaws.
Clarity: Very close to being crystal clear. I am actually not bothered by the slight cloudiness, but it is a flaw.
Flow: It is not American flow, but it is enjoyable to watch.
Color: I love the neon series colors.

Yea neon grande's - that would be amazing
We have the yellow neons over hear and they looks good, same as the other neon's.
Thanks Keith!
For those who are wondering--all three colors are available online at this time. $4.99 shipping for orders over $39.
...placed my order this morning!
I thought I would just add that I purchased one of the 250ozs from Spencers (online) last week. It arrived with very clear glass and clear liquid... Dont know when they were made (I can grab the serials when I get home) but I love it. Its the blue/yellow one.
david - those look pretty bad. personally, i would return them to a spencer's store if you have one close by. otherwise, i would contact spencer's and see about return shipping.
would you mind posting the information from the caps?

your lamps were made 4/20/12, which is fairly old stock. my neon yellow cap reads: 12081502; B1, (made 8/15/12) and is crystal clear. from what i understand through some posts on this forum, yellow neons were pulled from store shelves last year and were replaced with new stock due to clouding issues. i assume you have 2 neons that were part of the bad batch.
you can try cycling them for a few hours at a time by letting them heat until they flow, then shut them off until the wax cools and repeat. this may help, but honestly the newer lamps aren't as resilient as the older ones and it may still remain cloudy. this is why i recommend returning them because you shouldn't have to deal with brand new lamps that are cloudy! good luck regardless.
I don't think they'll clear. I'd return them. The old stock was supposed to be pulled from the shelves.

I do have a local Spencer's, but neither of my stores has the yellow, I was really hoping to get them clear! I wanna run them for a while before I return them for sure just to at least try! I will attach cap pix....

Oh well. Looks like I'll have to wait another few months before trying to order neons from Spencer's again.
