Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I just bought lamp with a cap code that isn't listed.  It starts with a large zero then the top line reads 960503L0 with bottom line 0508.  (Attaching a pic).  What does this all mean?  It looks like it has orange oil with red wax.  Thanks!!

Most likely a #10, yellow/red.  Sometimes the ink stamp on the cap rubs off.  Looks like the "1" rubbed off on this one.  The smaller numbers are the manufacturing date stamp.

(edit)

96(year)05(hour of day)03(minutes)L0(not sure)

05(month)08(day of month)

So this globe was capped on May, 8th, 1996 at 5:03 am.

Thanks!  I'd never seen just a zero without any other number.  Why do you think the oil looks orange instead of yellow?  Just from the red mixing in with it?

most likely so.  it's also showing signs of overheating, so you may want to put it on a dimmer or use a lower wattage bulb.

also - welcome to OG!

Thank you so much!!  I guess you can tell I'm a rookie lol.
