I bought a red/"clear" grande yesterday for $20. It is cloudy so I'll see how it goes with clearing it. But even if it's toast I have something to work with for projects. :D
I don't have any pic right now but will take some later on.
First light:
Flowing 1;
Flowing 2, if only it was clear;
My son had to get in the picture! :D

lol Ive seen them for cheaper other places. well worth the investment if you have a lot of lamp or if you go camping even :)
So far I haven't needed one. Honestly if I need to I think I would keep the wax and refill the master fluid with water and fog juice.
Great find, Keith! I have mine sitting out on the porch trying to fade it.........it's really not cloudy, just dark. Wishing you luck, buddy!! ;-) Pics please, when you catch the time.
Thanks Libby! I noticed earlier you said the grande wasn't fading much. I was wondering how much sun it gets with all those trees around. It will probably need sun all day long. I have a yellow/blue that is very dark also but not one bit cloudy.

That describes mine "exactly," Keith. Just way too dark, not cloudy, and it is a blue/yellow too. It's not getting enough sun on the porch, since it's covered, and only gets sun on the end mostly. My husband is going to carry it down on the driveway and put it in something to where it'll get morning and evening sun, and won't fall over (ouch). It might get "some" mid-day sun, but you're right, we've got lots of trees in the way.

This is where I first heard about fading;

Thank you, Sir Keith!!! I had not seen that particular thread. I would be "thrilled" if my Grande's blue liquid turned that pretty aqua. I like it. Mine has been on the porch for over a month........now we "know" it's not getting enough sun, since it just took days or a week or so to fade that one to aqua. Funny, but I also have a China Teal glitter out there too, it's way dark also.
It does take a considerable amount of time to fade but yes the more direct the sun light the better, And considering the size of the globe it may take all summer.
Thank you, Doc. I'll get my husband to sit them both out in as direct sunlight as we can find. They'll get the hot afternoon sun at least.
