Luved it!!!

Very cool. I like the ball design the best but the plate one is right up there in coolness factor.

wicked!!

As much as I like the White Lightning (plasma dome) for sheer "looks and sounds dangerous" power, I think I like the Larry Albright globe the best.  It just has so much more of an organic movement, kind of spooky and intriguing all at the same time and the enclosure really adds to the presentation instead of just being a stand for the globe.  Being a Star Trek fan, the Luminglas is favorite too.  The two larger Lava plasmas and the Luminglas can be set to be sound reactive.  The Luminglas, Larry Albright, and White Lightning are all intensity and pattern adjustable.  The Lightning 2s are intensity adjustable though the adjustability is minimal.  I still need to find a red Lightning 2 and an actual Eye Of The Storm globe to round out this small collection.  A magenta Luminglas would be cool too.

Rich, when the Albright does that phase where it looks like its raining white lightning is my fav. I dont know what time it happens on the vid but im sure you know what i mean. That's creepy cool!!!

The Albright is the large round globe in the black acrylic box.  I think you are talking about the White Lightning, the dome shaped one.  The video doesn't really capture it too well, but the sound it makes when raining a sh*tstorm of bolts is actually mildly disturbing!  It is loud enough to hear from a distance and makes it intimidating to touch in that mode.  The ozone it puts out in that mode is quite strong.  Plasma globes are typically pretty quiet, most of the tamer ones are pretty much silent so any level of easily discernible noise is interesting.

Yep, it happens at :56!!!  I can hear it!!!  I'm sorry I thought it was the Albright at first glance, then I just rewatched and saw that the Albright was in the black encasement!!!    Yep, the White Lightning is RADICAL!!!

I should be clear, the domed White Lightning was designed by Larry Albright but was made and sold by Rabbit Systems.  The round globe in the black acrylic box was built and sold by Larry Albright himself.

You can really see and hear the capabilities of the WL in the video on that I posted here as well.

That's sooo awesome!!!  Hey Rich, is that a tesla coil in that thing?  Like a mini tesla?  Because if the answer is yes, then that is probably why it is so "electrifying".  Am I right?

Well, not a simple answer.  Tesla invented the first plasma globe, he called it an "inert gas discharge tube".  He used a Tesla coil to power it.  The modern plasma globes we have work more on the same principle as a neon sign tube or a flourescent lamp.  The electrode in the middle is simply one pole of a high voltage output and the electricity tries to find the other pole outside the globe and along the way the electrons excite the gasses causing the colors we see.

There is a thread on here (I'm sure you already know) and I went to the site that sells those glass round globe plasma's.  OMG they have huge ones!!!  They are supposed to be VERY high quality.  Not sure if it's under plasma lovers group, but if you haven't seen it on here or don't know about it, i'll find the thread and post up.  Anyway, those things cost like 600.00 bucks!!!!  I was like whoa!!!  Then they have a sale page.  Well, I went on that page and the sale was like 450.00!!!  Way out of my budget, but I would love one of those.  Not real huge though.  I would be happy with the medium size one, but I want one that is sound reactive so it will go with my music.  My girlfriend's husband bought her one of those from Spencer's years back when they first came out and were all the rage.  She posted a video of it on facebook with GET THIS, her Grande glitter on one side and her other Grande lava on the other and smack in between is the plasma globe going to her music....I was like "tryin to make me jealous girl"!!!  All vintage from Spencer's bought brand new back in the day too!!!
