Mathmos in USA

Hi all, I'm in the US, and am trying to get some Mathmos lamps. Has anyone tried UKAddress.com? It seems like it is reasonably priced, and exactly what I'm looking for. Thoughts?

Brian, you need to step voltage up for the Mathmos lamps, not just adapt the plug type.  I use these and they work excellent!

I'll rewire mine, but I've also used these converters in the past - they work well.

Ok thanks. this is going to be quite an investment. But from what I have heard these are worth it. Im thinking of getting the dark gold with turquoise goo.

wow, those converters are much more affordable than the ones i thought you had to use that cost ~$100.  they are a great alternative for those wishing to use stock components.  thanks for posting.

UK Address shot me down some time ago too.....to hell with them. I am not familiar with forward2me but why can't you simply ship straight from mathmos to forward2me then on to you?

you can definitely to that Critter.  We were under the assumption from the article linked above from someone who used ukaddress, that they did it.  Two of us started orders under that impression.  At this point, hopefully going through forward2me, it will be much easier.

UKAddress has changed their mind, and now they CAN ship the package within the UK.  

Of course, I'll still need to pay their shipping charges to ship it to my Forward2me address, but at least they are going to do it now.  Here's  their latest email:

Dear Kirk,

Thank you for your email. If the parcel is going to be delivered within the UK we do not need a commercial invoice. As per our shipping team, we can still process this order for you if it's going somewhere in the UK and if you can provide the UK address where it will be going. We can then upload the shipping charges onto your account for you to review once we have the address. Hope this helps

That's exactly what I'll do, Bill, as soon as I get this blue/yellow Fluidium out of hock at UKAddress.  Just want to clear this one up, then all my future Mathmos orders are going to Forward2me.
