Bizarre lamp in France... got to be kidding

Look at the price of this lamp and then look at the cap code. It seems like there is a stamp on the bottom that says 1957 (before lamps existed) that could easily come from the stamper my father had in his shot.

That lamp is clearly a March 1997 lamp, lol!!!  The stamp on the bottom looks like the "9" in the "1997" got smudged making it look like a "5", or they effed with it with a blue sharpie to try and make it look like a 5.  Either way if that is what they were going for they are stupid because they took a pic of the cap code which clearly shows 1997.  Man, what people won't do to up the price of something!!!  That should be put on the Wall of Shame  Oh and the lava looks like cauliflower!!!

Yeah, I saw the cap code and the lack of a screw cap. It was just one of those funny auctions. I think people get something for a couple bucks and then just somehow think that all these lamps are the same and can fetch stupid money.

That's why I'm turning more and more against ebay.  I tried to buy a base and cap off of ebay, thank god I posted the listing pic on OG and a member mentioned that the base was for a 52 oz, but the cap was for a 32 oz!!!  Not to mention I got burnt on 2 52 oz'ers that came bashed up horribly......the worse the economy gets the more people will try to scam others.  I hate that!!!
