More tragic than sad.
Now why would they take a video of the glitter when it is just in warm up phase looking like it's not moving? Don't they realize that this may turn some people off thinking that that is gonna be the way that it runs all the time? I wonder when and if Spencer's will have these for purchase or will they be exclusive LL website orders only? I really like to buy the new china's at a place close by so I can return them if they are faulty which they usually are. I want to at least try the glitter lamp. Even if it is 20 oz.
I don't think think LL realizes anything any more just make em cheap and sell sell sell. They STILL don't even show a real rendering of their lamps just some fake computer generated pictures! However I won't rule LL out yet until I see the 50th anniversary lamp or lamps. I guess I still have a grain of faith in them yet...LOL

I am with Ian on the glitter, will be good to see the return! I figure, if they stick to tiny lamps for glitter, buy a few and fill your larger globes with them! I see a lot of donor Lava glitter in the near future
EDIT: Meant to also throw my laughs in on these reveals by Lava
Seems like LL is the company we LOVE to HATE!!!!! LL's name comes up and we just love to talk the trash on them....sad thing is, it's not false. Serious lava peeps from way back when remember how they used to be have good reason to be pissed off at LL, while on the same token, it is turning some newbs on to the lava bug. Hopefully, the newbs come to find out that they are trash and find a site like this instead of just throwing it in the trash and giving up.......
Vox, good idea about those small glitters!!!! Looks to me that I'm gonna be looking for coupons for Spencer's soon!!! lololol!!!
lol well prepare to be really disappointed in the 50th annivesary lamps
the 50th grande is the pic at the top of the page. Its the same as the 52 oz. nothing special other than a gold base for a grande.
The 50th lamp should have been a nod to their heritage. The most recognizable lava lamp, and oldest model is the Century. Chrome the base (or offer some other premium finish) and call it a day. Offer it in clear/red or yellow/red. Sweet touch, die-cut the cap or top of the base with a band of Lava Lite logos through the years. The commemorated the millennium with a gorgeous Chrome Aristocrat, with "2000" die-cut into the top of the base. They completely mailed it on what should be the grandest of celebrations, their 50th anniversary.
If they want to offer a series, fine. Four lamp line-up - Century, Aristocrat, 32 ouncer (standard shape of a Silver Streak/Midnight) and a Giant/Grande. All limited with certificates of authenticity, all with premium (i.e. Chrome or something else) base finishes. I would have gladly paid a premium price (i.e. + $20 or more) for lamps like that.
But wait...it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity! What, exactly, are they authentically certifying? Plus, any time I read, "Limited Edition," my first question is, "limited to how many?" If they won't say what the limited number is, odds are it ain't that limited. I'd have gladly purchased a Grande with a different color wax (how many times do we have to suggest blue!) and the same old silver base over this.
