REPLACEMENT QUALITY GLASS FIBER OPTIC SPRAYS COMING VERY SOON!! FOR FANTASIA & CUDA BRAND LAMPS

Hello everyone, I know many of you are on the hunt or know of someone on the hunt for replacement fiber optics for their Fantasia lamp. Look no further!! As you all may or may not know already. I am currently in the process of making replacement glass fiber optic sprays. These will be identical to the original Fantasia sprays. I am overwhelmed with pre-orders and will most likely have a supply and demand issue on my hands at first, so I will do my best to have enough on hand when I begin selling them to go around. The first sprays that will be rolling out will be for the Sunburst 4000 model, Cosmos 5000 model, Regency 4001 model. All previous model Fantasia lamps, Cuda etc will have replacements as I make them available. These I hope to have ready by early to mid summer.

The large fiber optic sprays that will first be available, will be available in two lengths. The first one being a 14" spray that when inserted will hang and display its ends about mid globe on a Sunburst 4000.
The second length spray will be 18" long and is generally seen on the Black Sunburst 4000 model "Egg Shape" But will fit the Chrome and gold model Sunburst 4000 model lamps also.

The Cosmos lamp will need a measurement specific spray tailored for a exact fit within the lamp, essentialy the 14" spray should fit with no problems however I would not mind some feedback on the length of the fiber optic spray from a Cosmos 5000 model. "Measure from the ferrule to the end tips of the fibers, I know multiple sprays were used on the Cosmos, some shorter than others, just reply to this discussion with the measurements, please and thank you! :-)

These fiber optic sprays are in no way easy to make and will be made by hand and not in a factory, the cost of materials, especially the glass fiber optics is a bit pricy, the work and the process that goes into getting a spray fully assembled from start to finish with a haircut takes a bit of time. The price tag on these sprays will be most likely in the neighborhood of $100-125 each, that will be determined when they are made available for sale. I am a quality person and will make the price tag worth it's cost. I know you all know these sprays are not available anywhere unless you purchase another lamp somewhere and snag it's spray for a replacement.

keep your eyes peeled on ebay for these sprays as this will be where I will be hosting them for sale first as where I also have many other Fantasia related replacement parts for sale, color wheels etc. I will also give a heads up to you all on here prior to me listing them on ebay. Reply to this thread to give me an idea of how many "goo members" alone I will be helping out with sprays. I look forward in helping many of you get your vintage Fantasia lamps back!!

As a heads up I WILL NOT be offering "Heat Formed" replacement sprays as the process in doing this is very involved and requires special techniques and equipment I do not have access to, perhaps down the road when the lighting business I am trying to get launched is successfully up and running.

Are you still making these sprays
Im no longer making these sprays.
What kind of paint do you use on your wheels maybe I can do it myself

I will not disclose my process of making my wheels, you are more than welcome to try making your own.

Just want to know what paint to use I can ask in any paint shop don't want to make them myself for profit no one has these lamps in uk

No paint is used in the process.

Ok will get in touch with mathmos

About 6 months ago, I was trying to repair a chrome Fantasia 4000.  The motor assembly fell and the glass color wheel broke.  I made a replacement color wheel using thin sheets of polycarbonate, (about 1/16 inch thick), my computer scanner, my color laserjet printer, Photoshop, and transparency film.

I first saved a scanned image of the broken wheel to my computer.  I then edited that image using Photoshop, trying to match the colors the best I could.  (it took several days, but I finally got the colors to project pretty close to the original wheel when installed  The purple isn't quite as vibrant, and may need a little more adjustment in Photoshop).  My printer doesn't exactly match the colors showing on my computer monitor, so I had to make a lot of color adjustments.

Using Dremel hobby tools, I cut two round discs from thin sheets of polycarbonate, and trimmed the printed transparency to match.  I then sandwiched the transparency film between the two polycarbonate discs.  The original flat metal "spring" holds the two polycarbonate discs and transparency film together when installed. To make the colors more vibrant, I overlayed two or three transparency film discs between the polycarbonate discs, making sure the colored sections match-up.

I'm wondering if  colored light filters used by photographers will work as suitable transparencies material.

If color replacement disc do become available, I may purchase a couple, to keep as replacements, depending on the cost.

I'm so confused and upset.  This can't be this difficult?  I was just looking for the sprays for my lamp.  If anyone wants the 4000 with a working wheel, you can have it.  I'm sorry I ever tried to find the sprays because it's obviously a passion for several people - ME INCLUDED!  I would much rather someone enjoy the lamp if they have the sprays.  I found it and loved it...my damn pet knocked it off the table.  You can have the wheel!  The whole entire thing.

As long as the lamp is not damaged from the fall (dents in the globe etc) from falling off the table i would be willing to take the lamp off your hands, im looking at getting a base to use again to try making these sprays. I know how to assemble them but the trimming process is proven to be a headache. However i have a hairdresser friend who is willing to try trimming the sprays or shaping them, so perhaps you may want to hang on to the base afterall. If i get the trimming and shaping of the sprays down i will gladly sell these to the public. Its just this one last most important detail that needs to get figured out. When i had moved across the country i ditched a lot of my fantasia supplies and sold off my last trimming base.

I am once again delightfully confused.  I love my lamp, I have another and I protect it with all my heart.  There are no dings, the lamp works, I know because I've tried it with the lamp I had to buy on ebay...Reluctantly!!!  because I spent a fortune, but, it makes my day.  My neighbors get upset if I donn't turn it on!  We all enjoy it.  I'll certainly hold on to it if you can get the sprays working!!!!  The whole lamp is perfect.  Depressing, actually because it shows no damage but I cant find the sprays....

Their are sprays being sold from Germany, they are glass fiber optics, original like what Fantasia used. You would want the one with 1400 fibers, beautiful! Not sure the total cost with shipping and fees etc but he has them for sale and the info is in this thread back a few pages, i want to say around page 11 or 12. I may at one point have these sprays for sale again if me and my hairdresser friend can get the trimming science down, however it will be some time for that I'm assuming.
