I'm just about ready to start mixin' shit up but I have two mucho importante vital questions. I'm making a 135 oz lava lamp from scratch that I've aptly named ...."THE EXORCIST." I have all my supplies ready to go...All i need to know is the AMOUNT of wax I'm putting in the bottle (i have 4 pounds(white) ready to melt). ALSO...My 2nd dilemma is I am going to make 2 of the 4 pounds of wax red...and leave the remaining 2 pounds white ...and then use them both in the lamp as RED & WHITE...HOW DO I DO THAT? I'M USING RED WAX DYE to color the 1st 2 pounds of wax... Should I wait a certain amount of time between adding the red half and adding the white half?? Will it bleed into my white half...I want them to be separate...ONE ALL WHITE...ONE ALL RED. (but living in the same bottle)
PS - Are Propylene Glycol & Ethylene Glycol...Basically the same?? Can either be used for the "HOLY WATER?"
Thanks in advance for your help,
AJ

THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!
From one custom lava lamp goo-head creator to another, Cool ass project!
That is a devilish concept, now kindly undo my straps!
Unfortunately, if you put both color waxes into the lamp, they will eventually mix to a 50% lighter shade of red.
If the top opening is uniform with the diameter of the entire globe (A tube), Perhaps there is a way of making a sheet of glass divider and "Carefully" installing it with a thin bead of silicone so the two different colors stay separated.>?
Put red on one side and white on the other?
Or
A smaller globe inserted into the larger one?
Volume is a state of mind and conceptual, I always like to turn the volume knob up to 11 for better flow and also add extra springs for heat conduction. Just make sure you can dial up the heat enough.
Ethylene and propylene
I use propylene
the difference?
Safety and boiling point

Would you like some bourbon in that, father?

naw it will end up looking like regurgitated Italian food
I need to see the donor vessel from satan but I would say @ 2" is s good start as long as you have enough springs and hot enough fire and brimstone to heat it
