...the Crestworth company under Craven Walker turned out some quite astonishing lamps over a long period, many of which (I think) are as elegant as any produced anywhere...lava, glitter, fibre-optic - and the odd curiosities that defy categorisation... apparently they made a wave machine (thanks Johnny), which I haven't even seen yet! Has anyone?
No plans to let this one go, I'm afraid, but you may well find the black (production) model on eBay etc now and then - here are the three again (but I don't think the bronze or gold got beyond prototypes, not sure...)
Wow what a gorgeous piece of history! If you ever decide to sell let me know, I'm such a huge fan of his and his work - his ideas were truly spectacular! The steve jobs of the lava/light world :)
This lamp was commissioned by Edward Craven Walker for his sister, apparently
