Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hey guys, I'm bummed out to recently learn my lava lite has leaked a small portion of fluid from the cap because of a recent move across the country. The level of fluid dropped about another inch below what the normal fill was.

My lamp is red lava with yellow fluid. From the research I've done, I learned the general proportion of 6-parts 90% Iso, to 13-parts 70% Iso alcohol for the liquid. Is this correct? Have any of you replaced any of the liquid from a lamp that leaked with any success? Is there more I need to know with tweaking the liquid mixture to try and get it right?

I'd really like to fix this unit.

Thanks,

Matt

Wow, that electric red lamp looks great! I'll try the eBay score. I'd still like to know what the secret 'mix' is though, just for the heck of it...hehehe.

Thanks for your input bro...

Matt
